ACTIVITIES

Arts and Crafts

Camper Geraldine makes her own caneArts and Crafts enables the child in everyone, no matter their age, to express themselves creatively. Clay, paints, kits and recycled materials are available so that every camper has the opportunity to take home a masterpiece as a memento of their time at camp.

Book Club

Each session campers have the option of being in a book discussion club. Books on tape are available at camp, or bring your own tape player and use one of our talking books to catch up on your summer reading.

Camper Councils, etc.

Camper councils, talent shows, cabin clean-up and meal-times all offer great opportunities for humor and sharing. We laugh, talk, and celebrate our abilities as we create camper directed talent shows, work together on keeping our cabin clean, talk about important issues at camper council. While at camp we work on leadership and team building skills.

Campfires at Highbrook Lodge CampCampfires

Campfires bring the traditional camp experience to every camper. Each evening as dusk falls upon us we gather around the campfire for songs, skits, and sharing to remember our day and to build memories for a lifetime.

Evening Programs

Evening programs offer a nightly entertainment for the entire camp. Music, dances, competitions, banquet night, campfires, and special guests all add to the quality of the camp experience and ensure that boredom and homesickness are kept at bay by staying busy from dawn ’til bedtime.

Field Trips

Off-camp field trips break up the camp session visit and open new worlds to the campers. While at Highbrook campers have visited the Amish Flea Market and Cheese Factory in Middlefield, the nature areas of the Geauga Park District, Punderson State Park, Twin Pine Stables for horseback riding and Chardon Town Square for concerts. Field trips are scheduled based on availability and may not occur in every session.
