Camper drop off and pick up will occur at Highbrook Lodge between 3:00 and 5:30 p.m. on the first day of the session, except for adult sessions 1 and 7. Pick up will be at 12:30 p.m. at Highbrook Lodge.

Sessions are for campers who are visually impaired or blind, peers and buddies accepted as space available.

Cleveland Sight Center/Highbrook Lodge is a United Way agency. Please contact the Sight Center for financial aid information by calling (216) 791-8118, x227. We will be pleased to assist you with financial aid applications and information.

Highbrook Lodge accepts referrals from the Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI).

2008 SEASON SCHEDULE

Session 1: Camp Celebration!

For adults who are deaf and blind or multi-handicapped with vision loss

Tuesday, June 24 to Wednesday, July 2 (9 days)
Additional staff and volunteers make this session a celebration of abilities and fun! Campers attending this session are independent in their activities of daily living and hygiene, or arrangements may be made for attendants or aides to accompany campers. Activities include swimming, relaxation, entertainment and plenty of fun!

FEE: $248 for Adults in Cleveland Sight Center Service Area*
        $495 for Adults outside of CSC Service Area

Session 2: Adult Resort

For adults and married couples

Saturday, July 5 to Tuesday, July 15 (11 days)
Register early for this, our traditional adult session. Make new friends, learn something new about yourself and your vision while enjoying poetry, drama club, field trips, banquet night and much more!

FEE: $303 for Adults in Cleveland Sight Center Service Area*
        $605 for Adults outside of CSC Service Area

Sessions 3 to 7 arrive and depart directly at Highbrook Lodge -
No Sight Center transportation available


Session 3: BRIGHT FUTURES

Family Camp for parents, infants, toddlers and children

Thursday, July 17 to Sunday, July 20 (4 days)
This one-of-a-kind camp session brings families together to discuss the unique, challenging and rewarding aspects of their child with special needs. In cooperation with Cleveland Sight Center's Children Services Department, we provide parents of young children education, support and respite through speakers, workshops and fun activities. We prepare the meals and watch your kids while you attend the camp.

FEE: $110 for Adults in Cleveland Sight Center Service Area*
        $220 for Adults outside of CSC Service Area
        $50 each for children 3-12. No cost for children under 3.

Session 4: Open Session

Families, young adults and adults

Wednesday, July 23 to Saturday, July 26 (4 days)
 Families: This is the perfect opportunity to create your own quality time together with your family. Enjoy creative activities for the parents, the kids and the family, including a parent’s night out. And, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the pool and take a break from cooking! This is a great bargain for a fun vacation.
Adults: This is a great chance to try a shorter session at camp.
Young Adults (19 years and over): Join us once again for re-connecting with old friends.

FEE: $110 for Adults in Cleveland Sight Center Service Area*
        $220 for Adults outside of CSC Service Area
        $50 each for children 3-12. No cost for children under 3.

Session 5 and 6: Cool Kids and Tweeners

Two sessions run concurrently

Sunday, July 27 to Monday, August 4 (9 days)
8-11 year olds (Session 5): The days are filled with everything that Highbrook has to offer: swimming, crafts, field games, singing around the campfire, making new friends. Parents will be happy to know that these are very structured days and campers are never left alone.  The food is good; the staff is responsible and well trained.
Tweeners 12-14 year olds (Session 6): Our daily schedule is filled with interesting and new activities as well as all the traditional activities of arts and crafts, recreation, and swimming.  In addition you’ll choose your own preferred specialty area! This is a great chance to try something new!

FEE: $248 for Children in Cleveland Sight Center Service Area*
        $495 for Children outside of CSC Service Area

Session 7: Teens Rule!

Ages 15-18 years

Wednesday, August 6 to Sunday, August 17 (12 days)
Choose your own preferred specialty area for an opportunity to learn something new or build on skills you already have! In addition this session includes Camper Council, camp outs, field trips, a talent show and banquet, dance, and much more!

FEE: $330 for Children in Cleveland Sight Center Service Area*
        $660 for Children outside of CSC Service Area

Financial Aid applications are included with registration packets.
