Low Vision Self-Help Support Groups

Our licensed social workers assist clients in starting and running community based, low vision self-help support groups. These groups are run by clients, volunteers, and/or professionals. They are a place to come together to share your experiences, insights and allow you to spend time with others who share the challenge of vision loss. Low vision self-help groups exist in senior living buildings, libraries, churches, temples, and senior centers. Our social workers will help you find a group and/or give you the tools to help you get a group started. Low Vision Support Groups.

Cleveland Sight Center Awarded Three-Year CARF Accreditation!

The agency has been awarded its tenth consecutive, three-year accreditation from CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), for its Comprehensive Vision Rehabilitation Services. CARF is an international, independent, nonprofit accrediting body. Cleveland Sight Center successfully met rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality at the highest level of accreditation possible. Excerpts from the CARF report include:

"The organization is complimented for its highly regarded programs and services, strong leadership and committed staff members, and conformance to the CARF standards…"

"The methodology that has been developed to assess the skill level of persons served by the organization has been carefully developed… The post-assessment determines the success level of the training, measuring the extent to which persons served have acquired the skills that enable them to meet their goals… This post-assessment provides data to compile the outcomes of services provided… This is a model that could be beneficial to other community agencies."
