Career Exploration
Oftentimes the first step for job seekers is to identify their skills and talents. Trained counselors help job seekers make career choices and set employment goals through testing, research and informational interviews with professionals in various fields.
Job Readiness
This service addresses any barriers to employment, teaches what it takes to find, get and keep a job and when it is appropriate, make job changes. Job readiness also includes writing effective resumes and cover letters, finding good job opportunities, practicing interview skills and learning what to expect in the work environment.
Job Development
Staff members contact local businesses in order to make them aware of our programs. After contact with a potential employer is made, a company liaison person between the organization and Cleveland Sight Center is identified. This person provides assistance in obtaining employment opportunities for our clients.
Job Placement
This service focuses on putting what is learned in Job Readiness into action by seeking and securing employment and reaching predetermined job goals. Cleveland Sight Center will provide specific job leads to each client as well as accompany clients to place applications and for interviews.
Job Retention
Each client is monitored for 90 days after beginning his or her job. This service will help an individual keep his/her job by providing the right kind of individualized support including adaptive accommodations to the work environment, a job coach when needed as well as mobility instructors.
