Employers Seeking Employees
An increasing number of private and public employers have learned about the benefits of having a diverse workforce. Studies confirm employees with conditions such as vision loss utilize fewer sick days, achieve longer tenure and demonstrate stronger job loyalty than sighted workers. In addition, federal and state tax benefits are available to businesses with a diverse workforce.
The Williams Career Center (WCC) is a branch of Cleveland Sight Center that is focused solely on the employment of individuals with disabilities and establishing partnerships with companies looking for skilled and motivated workers. We establish collaborative relationships with employers to learn about your workforce culture and hiring needs.
At WCC, we begin by identifying a person’s strengths, the skills that need development, and the specific occupations that reflect his or her interests. With that information, we can match a worker with a position where he or she can successfully preform the tasks of the job.
What distinguishes our services from other vocational programs or staffing agencies are the decades of research behind it to evaluate effectiveness. Cleveland Sight Center is the only vision rehabilitation agency in the United States whose vocational services have been rigorously measured and tested to confirm their effectiveness. Employers such as the Internal Revenue Service, Marriott International, and Target use CSC’s Williams Career Center as a preferred recruiting source. Numerous CSC clients have gained successful employment at these businesses and are thriving in their positions.
What can WCC do for your company?
- Help determine hiring needs
- Match qualified workers with position openings
- Diversify your workforce
- Provide education and information on working with people who have disabilities
- Determine specific adaptive aids and potential accommodations
