Accreditation

American Camp Accreditation logo

Highbrook Lodge is accredited by the American Camp Association and is ADA accessible.

Registration

Registration for Highbrook Lodge is required. Applications are requested no later than June 1st. As sessions tend to fill rapidly, applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sessions are for campers who are visually impaired or blind. Peers and buddies are accepted as space is available.

Information
Financial Aid

Financial aid is readily available for those who need it inside our primary service area to attend Highbrook Lodge through Cleveland Sight Center. For those outside the primary service area, we will be happy to discuss options with you.

Cleveland Sight Center Highbrook Lodge is part of a United Way agency. Please contact the Camp Registrar for financial aid information by calling 216-791-8118, ext. 4593. Contact Camp Registrar via email. We will be pleased to assist you with financial aid applications and information.

Highbrook Lodge accepts referrals from the Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI).

Drop Off and Pick Up

Camper drop off and pick up will occur at Highbrook Lodge between 3:00 and 5:30 pm on the first day of the session, except for adult sessions 1 and 2. Pick up will be at 12:30 pm at Highbrook Lodge.

THINGS TO BRING TO HIGHBROOK LODGE CAMP

  • Dress clothing for town or church
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Sufficient clean underclothing to last the length of the session
  • Personal toiletry articles including soap, deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo
  • Warm jacket and/or coat
  • Warm night clothes
  • Slacks
  • Shorts
  • Bathing suit (and cap)
  • Raincoat/umbrella
  • Enough clean clothing to last the length of the session
  • Towels and washcloths
  • Bed linens and pillow or sleeping bag
  • Dog food for your guide dog
  • Spending money

Remember

MARK ALL ITEMS WITH YOUR NAME and include a complete list of personal items with your luggage. Also, all luggage MUST BE tagged with your name and address.

Highbrook Lodge will not be responsible for any damage or loss of property while in the possession of the owner. All valuables must be checked with the office for safekeeping.

Do Not Bring ...

Alcoholic beverages, electronic equipment like stereos, televisions, etc., cell phones, pagers, or weapons of any kind.

Medical Information

A current medical form signed by your doctor must be on file prior to attending camp.

Illness

Campers who require confinement to bed for more than 24 hours due to illness may be asked to return home to consult their own physician.

Special Diet

A complete copy of your diet or any dietary restrictions must accompany your registration.

Medications

All medications will be kept in the health center at camp.  Prescription medications must be in the original pharmacy container with the name of the medication, physician name and dose. Non-prescription medication must also be kept in the health center. There must not be any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, kept in the cabins for any reason.

Nondiscrimination Clause

No one shall be denied admission to Highbrook Lodge camp or to the benefits of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition Program because of race, color, national origin, sex, handicap or age.
