Early Intervention Philosophy:
Parents or primary caregivers are the child's first and most important teachers.
Early Intervention classes meet one day per week. Cleveland Sight Center offers a choice of several classes held at various times during the week. The children attend with their parents or other significant caregiver. Home visits are an option for families who cannot attend classes.
Bright Futures Early Intervention Staff:
- early interventionist
- occupational therapist
- physical therapist
- speech and language therapist
An early interventionist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and speech and language therapist provide assessments, activities, experiences and encouragement to guide each family through the first three years of the at-risk client's life. Parents are encouraged to join the weekly support groups.
The curriculum is designed to teach critical developmental skills, such as communication, cognitive concepts, fine and gross motor skills, orientation and mobility, socialization, visual efficiency self-help and school readiness.
Our early intervention staff is licensed by the State of Ohio.
Bright Futures Preschool
Cleveland Sight Center's Bright Futures Preschool is an inclusive program for 3 to 5 year-old children who have disabilities, including visual impairments. This program also welcomes children without disabilities.
Education Program
The preschool's primary focus is to provide an appropriate program for preschool children. Bright Futures preschool classes encompass both children with disabilities, including visual impairments, and typical developing children.

After completion of an initial, multi-factor evaluation given by the school district, the staff, parents and school district meet to develop the individual education program for each child. Bright Futures Preschool then implements those plans. Bright Futures Preschool students participate 4 full days per week.
