WHITE CANE WALK RAISES OVER $110,000! Thank you for your support!
THANK YOU all Staff, Board Trustees, walkers, donors, attendees and volunteers for your incredible support of this year’s White Cane Walk, as we celebrated the wonderful agency that is Cleveland Sight Center, raising important dollars for CSC and increasing awareness for our mission! Over $110,000 has been raised for programs and services! Because of you, we are able to make a difference in the lives of clients who are blind or have low vision. THANK YOU!!!

The agency was buzzing Saturday, June 3rd as the White Cane Walk was held at CSC for the first time. Many activities were featured on the grounds including tents in the CYAS parking lot, Empowerment Park and playground, tours of the main building, face painting, balloon artists, games, music, dancing and tasty treats…with a special appearance by Slider, the mascot of the Cleveland Indians! One of the highlights of the morning was the 1.25 mile walk from CSC to the Wade Oval Lagoon featuring the beautiful sights, sounds and smells of spring.

WHAT IS WHITE CANE WALK?
White Cane Walk is Cleveland Sight Center’s annual event to raise critical dollars needed to support our mission and raise awareness of our agency and the services we provide. Join us as we walk 1.25 miles in beautiful University Circle. White Cane Walk is presented by the Association of Indian Physicians of Northern Ohio. Through a generous grant from the SWP Foundation, the first $30,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar!

WHY SHOULD I WALK?
In its 12th year, White Cane Walk has already raised over $550,000 in support of CSC. These funds are vital to keep many programs and services available to clients, many of whom are not covered by medical insurance, including white canes.

DID YOU KNOW:
The average cost of a white cane is $30.
• $200 provides two hours of Braille instruction to a child who is blind or has low vision, in his or her own school.
• $400 provides four hours of orientation and mobility training to those who use a white cane.
• $600 covers the cost of a Highbrook Lodge camper to attend camp for four days. The event is fun for all ages and there will be activities including face painting, balloon artists, music, dancing, contests and more!
