Bright Futures Preschool

Bright Futures Preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and accommodates up to 20 students (age 3-5) Monday-Friday from 9 am - 1:30 pm during the school year. We believe learning shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all and use curriculum that allows teachers to tailor educational experiences to fit the individualized interests and needs of each student.

  • Creative Curriculum - Aligned with Ohio Early Learning and Development standards, Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features hands-on, project-based investigations as a pathway to learning.
  • Handwriting without Tears - Curriculum supports fine motor development and includes multisensory components critical for engaging visual, audio and kinesthetic learners.
  • My Big World – Curriculum addresses current events in the community through social study and science related experiences.
  • Active Learning - Curriculum includes a philosophy and learning approach used with children who have multiple physical and intellectual conditions.

At Bright Futures we recognize each child develops at their own individual pace. To provide feedback and promote development, children are assessed in a variety of ways:

  • IEP Progress Report
  • Early Learning Assessment (ELA)
  • GOLD Assessment

Therapies and extracurricular activities:

  • Music Therapy: Weekly sessions are provided by Beyond Words INC and are designed to be developmentally appropriate for anyone.
  • Reading with Ranger: Park rangers read and introduce one animal a month to students.
  • Eco Explorers: A mobile outreach vehicle specifically designed to bring environmental programs to students.

Our Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Intervention Specialist adapt all instruction and activities to each child’s needs and strengths. Students work on goals from their Individual Education Plan (IEP) developed together with their families and school districts by a team of specialists:

  • Speech Language Pathologist
  • Orientation and Mobility Specialist

Our team of passionate and highly educated specialists provide children with an environment enriched in technology and equipment that is readily designed and available for those who have low or no vision. Students learn how to communicate with their friends, how to have fun away from home and prepare for Kindergarten.

Our greatest goal is to see students graduate from preschool happy and ready for school age adventures.
