Cortical Vision Impairment Assessment Service (for ages 3-18)

Cortical Vision Impairment (CVI) is now considered the leading cause of pediatric visual impairment in developed countries. Increasing numbers of infants and young children who have experienced birth trauma, extreme prematurity or other brain damage are being diagnosed with CVI by the medical community (ophthalmologists and neurologists).

Cleveland Sight Center has a team of qualified professionals that can evaluate children with suspected or diagnosed CVI in order to help families and educators better understand the child’s level of visual functioning and identify specific CVI strategies and adaptations to make the child’s home and or school environment more visually accessible.
