Teachers and Schools

Cleveland Sight Center partners with Northeast Ohio school districts to provide educational, recreational and vocational opportunities for students who are blind or have low vision. This partnership allows for active parental involvement and support, collegial assistance for teaching staff and improved use of school district resources.

Teacher Workshops

Teachers and school personnel are offered various opportunities to expand their knowledge regarding students who are blind or visually impaired. 

  • See What's Possible: Annual Workshop for Educators | Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
    • Please plan to attend the Annual Workshop for Educators (general education, intervention specialists, administrators, therapists, and support staff) who will be working with children with low vision, cortical visual impairment and or blindness during the 2021-22 school year. The workshop will feature engaging and informative information, strategies, accommodation ideas, technology, material and equipment demonstrations. Bright Futures Preschool

A specialized preschool at CSC’s main building is offered for children three to five years old. The standard preschool curriculum is enriched with instruction that addresses the needs of children with vision disabilities and their sighted peers. Learn more about the Bright Futures Preschool.

Elementary through High School

CSC staff provides professional and itinerant services to students through partnerships with Northeast Ohio school districts. Services provided include Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and orientation & mobility (O&M). CSC also provides assessments in these areas.
